Among its most notable projects, CERAFILTEC is partnering with xAI to build the world’s largest ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR)—a transformative initiative enabling the reuse of 49.2 MLD (13.0 MGD) of municipal wastewater for cooling xAI’s supercomputing data center in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The project, set for completion in 2025, represents a major advancement in sustainable water management by conserving drinking water and protecting the Memphis Sands Aquifer for local communities.
The first shipment of CERAFILTEC’s advanced ceramic membranes—supporting an initial 10 MLD (2.6 MGD) of MBR treatment capacity— is already in transit to the site, marking a key milestone in this fast-track deployment. CERAFILTEC’s high-performance membranes, known for their durability and efficiency, eliminate fiber breakages and deliver substantially lower lifetime costs—a critical advantage for high-demand applications like data center cooling.
At Aquatech Amsterdam, CERAFILTEC will showcase a range of applications for its ceramic membrane filtration, including:
CERAFILTEC has secured and completed multiple projects worldwide, including:
“We are thrilled to be part of Aquatech Amsterdam, one of the premier water industry events of the year,” said CERAFILTEC’s Founder, Kay Gunther Gabriel. “This is an exciting time for CERAFILTEC, from cutting-edge product developments to major installations around the world. We look forward to engaging with industry leaders and showcasing how our ceramic membrane technology is setting new benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.”
