SOLVING SMALL WATER TREATMENT NEEDS - EMPOWERING WATER REUSE INSIDE BUILDINGS

Sustainability is a common concern for real estate. Designers, builders, owners and, more importantly, facility managers are all determined to achieve sustainable use of precious fresh water sources.

In a recent project, the facility management of an office tower decided to add CERAFILTEC’s Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) solution downstream of an existing MBBR. The biggest challenge was the very limited space. Even the filtration tank was designed and installed in a modular concept.

The filtered water can then be reused for irrigation, toilet flushing, chillers, and carwash, etc. Thanks to CERAFILTEC’s Active Cake Layer Filtration (ACLF) process solution, which uses powdered activated carbon as the adsorbent, additional dissolved organics, color, and odor can be removed on demand (optional). This enables the highest reuse water quality within the building for various purposes.
