Tests and Piloting
Especially industrial applications have unique water characteristics and treatment challenges, which need to be studied prior to providing a reliable projection. Therefore, Cerafiltec offers a service to evaluate your special case.
SAMPLE FILTRATION
Especially industrial applications have unique water characteristics and treatment challenges, which need to be studied prior to providing a reliable projection. Therefore, Cerafiltec offers a service to evaluate your special case by using its standard test units and test procedures.
In-house lab or on site sample filtration
Suitcase test units can be provided to customer site and sample filtration will be directly executed at site
Tests at site can be supported by Cerafiltec’s expert team
Use of a small single ceramic flat sheet membrane plate with 0.01 m² filter area
Evaluation of flow performance, filtered water quality and required pre-treatment
Results will be used for projection work
PILOTING
For our new customers and for special applications Cerafiltec provides piloting services. Along with the calculated projection package the process will be optimized and operated till client satisfaction.
Piloting at site
Skid pilot or containerized pilot plant containing at least one complete standard module with 34 ceramic flat sheet membrane plates
Fully automated operation and simulation of projected design containing filtration flow, backwash sequence, recovery rate, filtered water quality, chemical cleaning demand etc.
Record of all data for pilot report
Remote access to SCADA enables a 24/7 piloting support
Operation at site can be supported by Cerafiltec’s expert team
MEMBRANE CHARACTERIZATION
Besides the classic characterization of new membranes by porosity, pore size distribution, mechanical and chemical stability, the last essential evaluation step is application tests before the new product version can be released.
It is important to get a complete understanding of the new ceramic flat sheet membrane performance in standard water and sewage treatment applications.
Membrane characterization services
Standardized clean water tests to evaluate normalized permeability (flow and pressure performance)
Simulation of water treatment applications: Use of different pre-treatment chemicals such as FeCl3, Alum, HMO and hardness precipitants to evaluate resistance to blocking, clogging and scaling effects
Simulation of sewage treatment applications: Organically contaminated water filtration to evaluate resistance to bio-fouling
Cake layer filtration suitability
Membrane recovery tests: Evaluation of backwash and chemical cleaning requirements
Rejection tests to inorganic and organic particles to evaluate suitability for drinking water applications, RO feed requirements and bacteria LRV
